Service Advice...
Morning - Had a quick search and couldn't see a thread that quite matches my question.

Anyway - as an 'enthusiast' owner with another car - I was none the less surprised to find I'd only done c2000 miles since the last MOT and A Service, and only c6000 miles since the bast B Service (it is a 2011 90 HT normally garaged).

It's going in for a B Service on Friday (c£450, main dealer) and since it is out of warranty, driving fine, and I have no intention of selling it - is there any point? Is it really that risky to miss a Service or postpone it 6 months or a year?

It's not the £ - I'll happily pay for the work...but is it worth it given the miles I've done, is duration between services a genuinely significant factor once outside the warranty period?

Each to their own. I too have a similar situation where I cover only perhaps 3k a year and have a company car that clocks up 12-14k per year. Last two years my Land Rover wasn't more than 1.9k between MOTs. Many people will state that having a full service history is crucial, in my opinion it isn't as long as you have the documentation to back it up.
My vehicle is 'a keeper' and as such I do not let time but mileage dictate when I have mine serviced. It is down to personal choice really. In your situation I would 'propose' considering the same principle as mine perhaps? It is however solely down to you. Why throw money away when the mileage doesn't warrant it and the vehicle will be in your ownership for many/several years?

A thread on the issue where people tend to agree a service stamp does not hold much clout/value......

I agree. I am going to start servicing mine this year too.
And i don't think (as long as everything is ok) a few months will make a difference,
specially on a vehicle that does 4 or 5k a year.
