United Kingdom 2015 Defender 90 Puma 2.2 HT Montalcino Red
Led lights
Looking to fit led rear lights on the back of my truck are they just a fit and forget or will there be problems with indicators ?
Some company's advertise a little box that you need to fit inline can anyone enlighten me on this

If it's led tail/stop lights it's just fit and forget. You only need a ballast resistor or relay for indicators Thumbs Up 2015 90 XS CSW TDCi - Beautiful

Some suppliers will give you a different relay to fit. Then there is no need for the inline resistor.

But will the different relay affect the front lights that are non led ? 2015 2.2 tdci hardtop xs

I see 3 advantages to LED lights: they come on quicker and sharper (so are less likely to be missed), they don't have bulbs to change, and they use less power.

Fitting a ballast resistor kills the using less power advantage, you're better off fitting an indicator relay that can cope, like the RDX one.

ah, right. In that case are you thinking of just replacing the incandescent bulbs with LED drop-ins? I don't know whether you'd mind or not but they're technically not legal.

I've no idea how the indicator relay works on them, it might be fine or you might need to change it/put ballasts in. If a bulb goes do they flash more quickly?
