My contact no longer has access to a laser cutter. Having now a water jet cutter it makes the manufacture of the grilles non cost effective. I believe Nakatanenga do them in stainless. If enough people are indeed interested pass it all to Brendan....

We have sent our last Entreq one off to SGH yesterday.

Since Mal can not readily supply them now, we will get some Nakatanenga ones across in our next consignment.

For black powder coated stainless steel intercooler grill looking at about £50 - £55. Carriage cost can be a pain. These things are not heavy but will not go Royal mail small parcel so will have to be either Royal Mail medium parcel or UPS.

If anyone is interested please let me know.

Hope you do not mind me posting on your thread SGH?

Anyone got anywhere with the dealer in having these repainted under warranty?

Mine's looking quite poor:

Hi Supacat

I bought a new take off grill from Chris and will get it painted properly myself before fitting.

My personal view is to sort it myself rather than the hassle of warranty work that will only last a short time anyway.

Yes I've had at least one sorted by a dealer in the past but the repair only lasted as long as the original. To do it properly it needs a new grille that is properly etch primed etc. Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades.

Well I think the dealer has agreed to do this under warranty. Vehicle has to go back in for some other work and the service advisor has yet to speak to the paint shop to see the best way of doing it.

I couldn't see a proper way of doing it without drilling out the rivets and separating the grill but didn't think they would go to the hassle of this under warranty, so I removed it myself.

It's in quite a sorry state, especially as it's under 2.5 years old:

Untreated aluminium pressed against the grill frame has created a moisture trap with the resulting white powdered oxidation.

So even if the visible paint had been in perfect condition the part would be rotting away unseen.

The question then is this beyond economic repair from a main dealer/warranty perspective? Do new grills come unpainted?

I've put it back on with some button head stainless bolts - a great improvement over the rivets:
