Drip drip drip
Hi all. I have a tiny water leak dripping onto the passenger footwell when it rains. The windscreen has been fully sealed where the rubber meets the glass and where the rubber meets the frame. The bonnet hinges have also been sealed and a small thin layer has been put over the foam where the bulkhead meets the window frame. Also around where the window wiper mount onto the bulk head. I'm sort of stuck in thinking where else it could come from. It's definitely not coming where cables run through the bulk head. Does anyone have an idea? It is quite a tiny drip so do I just accept it ?

Thanks. Bow down Damn planet is short of Kryptonite !

Gleaned,
I found a few leaks on mine, one of which was where the gutter drains behind the bonnet just inside the wing for some reason it directs water just short of the top of the wings and there are a few bolts going into the bulkhead that get soaked when it rains.
I found these were not sealed, drivers side was the main culprit on mine, also water still manages to get behind the door seal at the windscreen/bulkhead point and drip onto the door hinge torson bar and then onto the mat, have given up trying to cure that one!

Top corner of windscreen frame where it bolts to the roof? The screw can come undone (and even fall out onto the roof lining) causing a small crack in the sealer around the top corner of the windscreen frame so water runs down the a post.

Have you got air con? There's a drain that can get blocked just above the gearbox which results in water coming from under the air con unit and drips into the footwells. 2008 Defender 110 XS SW - M57N2 / 6HP28X

If im following you I think the my2015 puma has an extra short bit of rubber seal/gutter that stops this!

Mines a 1999 but my 2012 was the same, if they have extended the gutter then great as both min leaked in the same place. Will post a picture Saturday as away at the minute.

That's great. A picture would be great. Is the bolts easy to access? Or do I need to get it up on a ramp? Damn planet is short of Kryptonite !

Yes that picture does help. That's one area I haven't looked at. That is where it could be starting and then finding its way inside by dripping down the engine side bulkhead then being routed via a non sealed bolt onto the inside. Thanks for your help guys. Damn planet is short of Kryptonite !

On my old Td5, the water would run through the gap shown in that link, then down bulkhead, where Land Rover had the great idea of blocking three holes with small circles of gaffa tape, which were pealing off, and letting all the rain in.

A "tiny leak" - that's outrageous!

It should have a regular leak like everyone else's Defender. Rolling with laughter

(Sorry, not helpful. I'll go slap myself)!

Chaps do you think there is a possibility of water getting at the back of the hinge and dripping behind and finding its way along the rivets to the inside of the bulkhead?
