this is the NAS rear step My question is once fitted are they a capable of towing if fitted with toe eye. |

Do you mean eye or ball Marty...
Either way, the answer will be yes, when properly fitted... 
Although there may be mounting height issues depending on what you plan to tow...  Rog...

There are 9 large bolts that hold the bumper on and 2x 20mm stay bars that go back to the chassis. If its and original NAS im sure it can tow full load. |

Correct, non gen, like most on ebay, and can not see the chassis stays in the pictures, ?
The Step/tow bars make the ball a fair height, and would not like to fit a drop plate and then tow to the Defender full capability and certainly not without the stays Much as i would like a rear step/tow bar, my trailers are all too low a hitch for one California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1 Main Brian James Trailer Dealer for South West UK |

If you do want one, try and go for genuine as they will be up to towing or if not, at least from a good supplier. They vary in quality quite a bit. Regards

I just about get away with it on lowest neigh with my 8' Ifor but larger trailers you wouldn't.

It's not an original NAS bumper.
The NAS has a slot for a class 3 receiver hitch, and the 2 arms that extend down and bolt to the frame. Looks like that bumper bolts only to the rear crossmember. Nice thing with the original NAS is you can slide in a tow ball, pintle, etc.I actually dragged some large douglas fir trees around my property after they were felled with a chain attached to a cleat into the hitch. Based on the research I did recently, the USA 'NAS step' had trailer hitch, while the current NAS-like 'rear step' has a flat panel with bolt holes. Both genuine LR have the arms that bolt to the frame, one way or another, whereas many of the less expensive aftermarket ones omit the arms.
