Washers is a straight forward answer.
Nylon onto the powder coating, then steel, then screw. That way stops damage to powder coating if steel washer rotates when fastening the screw. Second part have not got a clue really. Are you sure holes are lining up correctly? Brendan |

As to fouling the wing... Did your first Defender have checquer plate, and the current one not?
The Entreq snow cowl will fit wings with checquer plate without a special ring, but if you want to fit it on wings without checquer plate, you need to order from Entreq a extra ring to keep the snow cowl from fouling the wing. This ring is about 5 mm thick, a strong type of black rubber/composite material. If you go to Entreq website and look up the snow cowl, there will be somewhere on the bottom of that page a link to this ring. Eric You never actually own a Defender. Eric's right you know. Taken from the advertising blurb......
"On vehicles without chequer plates fitted, or chequer plates fitted with a large cut-out section for the vent grille (eg Land Rover Original), it is necessary to use our rubber interlayer for the vent grille. Without rubber interlayer, snow covers come too close to the fender and can cause scratches. Our snow cover is designed to be mounted on top of our chequer plates or those of other manufacturers." Just looked, yes that's the one I have. Goes between the cowl and the wing. Was fine on my previous 110 1951 80" S1 2.0

It's about 5mm thick. Maybe the recess is deeper perhaps on yours? Possibly worth considering doubling up on the gaskets? If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Sadly I had it installed on my last 110 3 months earlier but age deleted my brain of the correct fitting

I bought mine from Brendan @ Peterborough, and just got round to fitting.
Instructions aren't necessary... however I did have a good think about the potential issues of removing the standard grill and having a huge hole for leaves and rodents to get sucked into! I initially removed the standard mesh, and realised it touched the wing, and so have both fitted now... looks good The Entreq blanking plate for t'other side fits no problems P.S. Sorry for bumping, however i am sure we would rather keep posts together |
