Rubbing sound/sensation

Hi again... mystery noise time, wonder if someone here could possibly diagnose a mystery rubbing sound/sensation that seems to come up through the steering column... basically when I'm manoeuvring into a parking spot, lots of little movements, clutch, steering, reverse, 1st... and suddenly I'll get what feels like a rubbing sound as I'm turning the wheel right and in 1st, it goes away for in a second or so.

Not on full lock either... it seems to only happen when I"m parking - and then again not all the time. I can feel some resistance when it happens, and then it goes away. Really odd... never happens when I'm out driving or in traffic.
