Sloppy steering which tightens up once engine is running...
I'm thinking that I need a new power steering pump. Sometimes I've got about thirty degrees of play in the steering when the engine is off, this reduces to about five degrees once the engine is running! Is this normal? 1990 Defender 300TDi

The power steering will only work when the engine is running. It will naturally feel awful with engine off. 1998 110 300Tdi White Hard Top
