2008 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 USW Cairns Blue

Quick questions about brakes

Today I came across a problem when changing the front brake pads, the outside piston just pushed back with slight pressure from a long handles screwdriver but the inboard ones just refused to move even with the pressure created by a 3 foot pinch bar.

Q1 Is this normal.

Q2 How far do the pistons push out if I wanted to try and clean the pistons up. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place,
so it doesn't take much to

us off.

should all take same pressure to push back , if you had to use a long bar the push back then there is a very good chance the brakes will start binding

be honest they be hard to clean up to a good standard as the chrome surface will be damaged and the mild steel under the chrome will rust again quickly

if they rusty the best thing is to replace , if they have been forced back in when rusty you may have damaged seals , if you're not changed seals before in calipers , they can be a bit of a pain , if you dont fancy resealing , then new calipers
if your going the route of new calipers
I personally would buy complete new calipers and before fitting swap the pistons for stainless ones , expensive way to do it , but the best way really if it's a keeper
