defender auto box help
Hi I'm looking to get a auto box fitted to my 90 defender 2,4tdci 2010 .where is the best place to get one done cheers Phil

Sorry, don't know as I've not driven it any distance.

BAS offers the only Ashcroft certified remap to help improve mpg ( we are a BAS remapper and will be applying one to this vehicle )

'Bm52' had an auto Puma for quite a while, maybe drop him a PM

I have done a few miles in auto TDCI Defenders and fuel consumption is a little heavier than a manual. I would recommend fitting one of Ashcrofts torque biasing centre diffs at the same time as this takes all of the slack out of the driveline and makes them much smoother, without this you can feel the slack in the driveline being taken up when you lift off and again when you apply power. I would advise you to drive a converted Defender or automatic Discovery 2 before spending £5,000 plus on this conversion. Ashcroft used to have a demo vehicle, It would be worth speaking to Dave to see if he still has it.
