2013 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 USW Corris Grey
When I was a lot younger I bought a Vitara soft top that the previous owner had left a scented candle between the soft top and the rollover hoop in the channel. As soon as the weather got hot it melted running around the hoop and down the side of the car. Took me forever to clean it Twisted Evil

Slightly different but on the same theme, a friend after a late saturday night, 8 pints of larger and Chinese meal - spewed down the dash heater vents on his parents brand new BMW, they had to sell it - every time the heater was switched on an overwhelming smell of vomit filled the car complete with remnants of dry Chinese blown out of the vents.

My old man told me of a car protection racket that was around in some rougher areas of Birmingham in the 60's where if you didn't pay a fee for someone to look after your car in certain car parks you may just regret it. A mate of my dad's had taken a lady out for a night on the town, come back to his new Jag, unlocked it, got the lady settled and just about to put the key in the ignition when a large bruiser of a gentleman had jumped on the bonnet whilst another tapped on the window and demanded the "parking fee". He told the pair to p**s off and the big guy did, right in the air vent on the scuttle panel. Another car that the pine fresh trees couldn't cure!

Things found
Mine is Ex EA and as such did not have much exciting in it

Many, many pop rivets and miscellaneous fittings. one of which is still rattling around inside my bonnet!

Gate codes to get into various unknown places

A lot of stinky mud

Various unusual reciepts

18p in change

Not a Land Rover, but I do have an old VW Camper that was imported from Australia. Had various repairs to get it roadworthy, including fixing the rear lights. When I removed the lenses, it was obvious why they weren't working, the seals had gone on the lights, and the light clusters were completely full of sand!

Not quite a second-hand find but a few years ago some little scrotes egged my wife's beetle (1974 soft top) in really hot weather. We found them and made them clean the seats and windscreen and thought that was all of it... until a few days later when I turned on the fresh air fan and we got blasted with stinking "egg flakes"... Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...
