Transporting Car to South of France
Hi

My girlfriends Dad has a LHD Volvo XC70 on French plates which he wants to get back to Villeneuve area in France to sell it. He is unable to get temporary insurance over here as its on french plates and is only able to get temporary insurance in france on french soil only !

Can anyone help with anyone that would transport it over? There could be a small trailer and golf buggy on a return load.
Or does anyone know of an insurance company that will give insurance?

Trying to find a better way of getting it there than he having a towbar fitted to his current car and hiring a trailer. He is over 70 and with two dodgy knees !!!

Any help appreciated

I insured a new Freelander years ago that we did a personal import on from Eire. NFU insured it on a chassis number.

Bound to be someone taking a car transporter to the south of France who could take it as a part-load.

Managed to ship a Sankey (admittedly in-country) from Withams to Bristol for £100 odd Real trucks don't have spark plugs

Get it to the French side of the channel then insure in France and drive it down?

Then you only need it moving to a channel port (perhaps over as well).  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top
