They seem pointless ?????

Expensive plastic to protect cheap plastic???

Also look to reduce the lense area and therefore light output and field of vision of the light.

They seem to be form over function....

That's what I thought, those in the photo above are Matt plastic, there are painted versions and gloss etc.
Like the rest of KBX stuff, not so much purpose but just a different look.
