Rear mudflaps
Hi
Could someone tell me how to replace my rear mudflaps please. Replaced front pair no problem, however there appears to be a nut inside the rear cross member that I need to get hold of so that I can undo the retaining bracket bolts.

Thank you Confused

Probably a rivnut spinning in the crossmember. Use say mole grips and apply a downward force to extract existing bolt. Then after reading the thread on homemade rivnut tool just tighten up the rivnut. HTH

On my 110 the bracket mounted to the chassis had a bolt going right through the chassis from one side to the other. 1999 Defender TD5 110

ok thanks, I'll check out to see if the bolt goes right through, but sadly I don't think it does and I'll check out the homemade rivnut jobbie.
Cheers Guys

Not sure if it's a standard fitment or not. 1999 Defender TD5 110

Given how most of the rivnuts seem to turn, even after the first fitment, this is how it should have been done in the first place. Rolling Eyes 1998 110 300Tdi White Hard Top

I replaced one of the rivnuts on mine with a regular nut and bolt. With a bit of fiddling, it's possible to feed a 10mm spanner into the chassis through the nearby circular hole to get to the back. I attached a cable tie to the spanner in case I dropped it inside. Darren

Maybe that's why I had no rivnuts on mine. Replaced with Stainless bolt/washers and nylock.
And yes, that's how it should have been done! 1999 Defender TD5 110
