I don't believe so. I just put in led brake light bulbs in and they were awful. There was not enough difference between the tail lights and brake lights to tell when they where on. 2015 RRS Autobiography SDV6

You want RDX led lights, and no relay needed for just the brake lights, or sidelights for that matter.
Only need the relay for indicators. 
They are brighter and safer. |

Already bought the Wipac Units. Seem to be of good quality. Installed this afternoon and lookin sharp.

As long as you're not putting LED bulbs into filament holders you're fine. All about type approval etc.
COULD be MOT failure and or something for PC Plod. all to do with the mouldings on the inside of the lens designed to reflect light as certain angles, and LED are different light patterns to filament ya de ya. |

I have LED fixtures in my side repeaters, they work really well but I was sort of half and half as the lense is E marked.
Same with the number plate light with LED fixtures in as recently sold on here. Although I love the LED's and they work perfectly and IMO better and brighter after reading your post much as I'd dislike to I'm starting to think I should put bulbs back in.. Why has no one ever designed an LED specific side repeaters? E marked LED specific number plate lights are awful quality. Seems that the law prefers conventional lighting even if there is a new improvement. Silly really. |

As for the number plate light there is a complete replacement (Sealed housing) which works very well. Looks exactly like the original, is e-marked and bright. Only the white light colour is different and needs getting used to - but that only applies to the driver following me  .
There really seems to be no replacement LED unit for the side flashers. Isnīt there a market for them ? Maybe you have to have a adjustable flasher relais for them which not everybody has. I have put LED-"bulbs" in them but am not really happy with these. |

Side repeaters in LED work with standard indicators I find perfectly well. No galah issues either.
And there would indeed be a market for LED side repeaters I think. I have these type LED bulbs in mine: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-x-5-SMD-LED-50...3a8da7c5fd They work very well. When I had a mobile centre LED number plate light it failed within the same day, hence getting rid and going for LED fixtures. Plus it had regular LEDs not SMD's which are much better |

Am I missing something? You can get direct replacement LED indicators (Wipac, RDX etc.), I've got them fitted to mine. Oh - are you talking about the wing-mounted side repeaters? 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green
