Aldi are selling digital vernier calipers for £8.99
Ok these may not be the best quality bit of kit but for under a tenner it can`t be bad and its got a three year warranty,
so far I`ve had one of there nibblers used the guts out of it cutting steel way beyond its limits after a couple of weeks it died went in with receipt "yes sir would you like a new one " a year later this ones going strong.
Got a reversible air drill to a year on its still going the pair of them cost 20 quid.
So the good mitutoyo going back in the box and having a rest.
They are also selling ultrasonic cleaners anyone got one ?

The calipers are great but they have an appeite for batteries.
Replacements on Ebay are about £2.50/100 incl. postage. Very Happy

Got one of their Verniers and for general use is great and its pretty well made.

My father has one of the ultrasonic cleaners and have yet to find a use for it. They really are quite small, Ok for jewellery but not a great deal more. He is a avid 'Aldi Special' collector and has most of them now haha

Also second the battery hunger.
