FAO: BP Man, RE: iPad Mount
I know this has been covered a gazillion times, but I don't have a TDCi so most of the discussions on here are not applicable.

To BP Man, and anyone else who has something useful to chip in!

After digging around the forum, back from 2011, I saw a thread where you were looking for a way of fitting the mount to the 300tdi soft dashboard. You did say you would post pics on that thread, but didn't get around to it. I'm now facing the same predicament, so I'd be quite interested in seeing how you managed to work it.

Cheers,

hi Interlet

I used a ram mount on the grab rail, I also fitted a ram mount to the cubby

I always buy direct from ram mount.co.uk, they have the best prices

I have a toughbook and an ipad, both work with a 1 1/2 inch ball

ipad mount: http://www.ram-mount.co.uk/device-mounts-a...0_673.html

grab rail mount: http://www.ram-mount.co.uk/clamp-base-with...8_287.html

universal mounts: http://www.ram-mount.co.uk/fishing-rod-mounts-c-490.html#p23

there is a pdf downloadable catalogue: http://www.ram-mount.co.uk/applications-z-17.html

I tend to buy a bunch of bits, then send back the items I don't need, the guys are very helpful.

Interlet, if you're talking about fitting the RAM mount to a TD5 or TDi dash, I will post some pictures later.

The lower dash rail isn't strong enough to take the weight of mount+iPad, so I made a simple Ali plate that fastens between the upper and lower dash rails. It's as solid as a rock and very simple.

Cheers

Simon

Cheers guys very helpful.

Looking at the ram uk site, would a 1.5 inch ball be suffice to hold an iPad stable or should I go bigger. 1998 110 300Tdi White Hard Top

Just looked back at my order from RAM and this is what I got:-

1 ea. Mount with Standard Arm and 2.5" Round Bases £46.93
1 ea. Tab-Tite™ Universal Holder for 10" Tablets with Heavy Duty Cases £29.80

The mount has 1.5" balls ( Shocked ) and the whole thing is solid as a rock.
