Squeaking when turning left?
Hi all...

My 110 has recently developed a squeaking/squealing sound when I turn the wheel left. Don't have to be moving for it to happen either. It sounds like metal-on-metal, initially when I heard it I thought that it was a bearing starting to go.

Doesn't appear to be the belt from what I can tell, but it is hard to pinpoint the sound as there is only one of me, can't turn the wheel and be outside to check (billy no-mates at the moment, everyone is away)

Anyone ever encounter anything similar?

I can solve this one for you, its really easy as well. DONT TURN LEFT! Rolling with laughter Whistle

Ok seriously, does it just happen when you are on full lock or is it the complete time you are turning left or just a specific point when you're turning?

If it is just on full lock it could be your belt slipping.

regards,

Mark

I had this in my focus when turning right and turned out to be Anti Roll Bars rubbing on the body work. New bushes sorted it.

Didn't happen when turning the opposite direction.

Have a look and make sure that you don't have a stone wedged between the brake disc and the Censored guard that is next to it, also check that the Censored guard is actually not touching the disc, as this will give squealing noise also.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

Finally got someone to help me find the source of the noise, wouldn't you know it - the noise disappeared!

I think it was something wedged down there, after some rigorous left/right on the steering wheel trying to diagnose the sound on me own it might've fallen out.
