My new toy

While project 'Icelandy' is only about to begin its modifications, this cam up on ebay and i could not resist.

It is a proper Sandringham 6x6, i have the full engineers report from SMC, along with the bill..... ouch! It currently has a 3.5ltr Nissan Diesel Engine in it and i am pleasently suprised with the drive.

Am planning a complete rebuild with galvanised chassis and bulkhead, and a double cab.... among other things.

What do you reckon?

United Kingdom 2007 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 PU Manual Tonga Green

Hi Icelandy, I have recently sold my 6x6 Defender (1989) on eBay for nearly £12000 +VAT, so perhaps its worth doing the rebuild, maybe keeping it as original as possible, check my gallery, I have a photo

Hi Looks good. What engine did you have in it?
I am looking to make an overlander from mine.
I think i got a good deal on the base vehicle so just depends on the rebuild cost.

I found the 2.8 TGV engine a vast improvement over the original V8 Petrol, fansastic torque and nearly 25mpg, a lot better than the 8-10mpg I was getting from my V8

I would say the engine to go for if you have a V8 petrol to replace Very Happy
