2.2 v 2.4 OE accelerator response
I've been told by someone who had a 90 2.4, but now has a 90 2.2, that the latter have different, sharper, accelerator response that makes them jumpier than the 2.4s.

Not sure if for a 90 that's a good thing. Sounds more road than off-road biased. More car.

Has anyone else who has gone from 2.4 to 2.2 90 (or 110/130 if it applies) found the same difference between old & new Puma. Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Ta ta Defender

My 2.2 is different to my 2.4. You have to adjust your driving style. The same as when we went from td5 to 2.4. Mine had been in and has had it's ecu updated.

It's great until you want to do slow work. I just drop mine in low box which is set up very well. I find the low box throttle response bang on.

Never driven a TD5. How was that different to 2.4 Pumas?

Can the 2.2 be re-mapped to avoid the issue, or just given the 2.4's instead? Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Ta ta Defender
