How do you find the Td5 in relation to the Tdi ? Just curious as i made the same transition. 2005 Td5 90 XS

I'm still adjusting I think - miss the tractor noises and some of that feeling that it's going to go on for ever, but the TD5 is much quicker and better suited to my use so I don't think it will take too long to settle in. The trouble is I spent ages fiddling with the tdi... As you do... And the new one is still pretty much as it rolled off the production line - it's only done about 30,000 miles. I wasn't really planning to change but couldn't pass up the nice shiny thing. What did you reckon after swapping? |

It took a bit of time to adjust to fly by wire throttle as it does,nt appear to be linear in use and the td5 can feel a little bit flat until the boost picks up but just requires a different driving style.The Td5 seems more suited to longer journeys and is less tiring to drive (i did a thousand miles in mine the other week visiting the west country).

fly by wire isint linear hence why also two settings for high and low and how power delivery is given.
