Thurso
Going up to Thurso and John O'Groats at some point soon, anything anyone would recommend to see/do up there? Any exciting Green Lanes?

sadly no green lanes in Scotland,
but their is no law of trespass, just ask land owners and shut gates.
and follow country code, leave as you arrived. Smile Live Life Ti'l You Die

I've not done it myself...but it's on my to-do list...

The ford at Doll is supposed to be a classic.

Put the grid reference NC871045 into streetmap.co.uk

If you're planning to head towards Durness, there's some nice beaches, cliffs and smoo cave is worth a look. The cliffs at JG are about the only thing to see there. I done this trip last year and saw a few tracks disappearing into no mans land during the drive from Ullapool. Plus the place was deserted. On a good day it can be a really nice drive and there's plenty of places to park up.

I'd completely forgotten about wetroads! Will definitely be giving it a go... as well as maybe another couple that are (sort of) en route!

Any good hills to climb? Very much weather dependent but would be a good laugh if we could take a walk up!

Thanks for the feedback so far!

It's hillwalking heaven up there!

Some stunning classics such as Suilven (much easier than it looks so long as you only climb the nearer peak - continuing along the ridge to the lower top is harder):

Stac Pollaidh (pronounced Stac Polly):
