Keys
Her indoors has lost the spare set of keys for our 2012 110 xtech.!
Are they special coded keys, or will I be able to get a new set cut by the local key cutter?
Just hoping it will be cheaper than the 140 I had to give Stratstone to replace her lost Disco key ( which, by the way, turned up 2 months later in one of her wellies!) Didn't know whether to blame the dog or the kids.... 2012 Defender X Tech Orkney Grey(now sold, thank God!)

Well, to tell you the truth, early last year she had to have a colonoscopy which thank God proved to be all clear.
Just before it was performed, we had a meet with the surgeon and I asked him if he could have a look for the Disco keys whilst he was up there....
She wasn't impressed!
Made him chuckle though. 2012 Defender X Tech Orkney Grey(now sold, thank God!)

Few options..

Main Dealer can supply pre cut key...

Get a blank key and get a local key cutter to cut....

Or did your wife loose the fob as well? This needs diagnostic kit to program in.

Final option - use it as an excuse to get an all in one key and fob, I can supply it cut to suit, and programming to the vehicle is easy.

I haven't lost my keys but I'd be interested in one of those all in one key fobs?!

What's the damage on one of those and how do I go about it? Programming etc? Cheers

There is often a forum group buy of them. I will participate at some point. With programmer and the current exchange rate one key and programming pod is around 82 all in. (Inc P&P) Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

There's a website that you can order from if the group buy is full but they are out of stock at the moment Rolling Eyes
- Hope I'm not breaking the advertising rules with that link? (It's not a website of mine or anything... I'm keen to get hold of one of these keys from somewhere too!)

I've also supplied them since they first come out, actually I'm still running one of the prototype keys myself. Whistle

If required I supply them precut and ready to use (once programmed to the vehicle - which is very easy to do) and normally within 7 days (or quicker if you are going to get the blade cut yourself).

PM for details - as no intention of starting another Group Buy War lol.

You can get a blank key of eBay for very little money and have a local lock smith cut it for you. That's what I did. Cost me less than 10 quid. The fob can also be got of eBay but will have to be programmed along with all other remaining fobs. It's a five minute job which can be done with a Nanocom.

I got one of the old style key up to td5 which I like better anyway. Don't know if you get the big modern ones with all the air trapped in useless plastic, too. I don't like the fob in key as you will have to carry both all the time. On trips where you deactivate the alarm a slim, single key is nicest, I think.
