Should reclaim 20 % VAT by permanently exporting to Jersey, don't forget to claim for a refund on your road tax either.

Would take a vat qualifying vehicle then. Unlikely on a station wagon under £20k

No it won't, Jersey isn't in the EU.

I'm intrigued, so a vehicle with no vat on it can have vat claimed if taken out if the eu?

You can't claim the VAT back on a vehicle that doesn't have VAT on it, therefore as Jeremy says it would need to be qualifying.

The Personal Export Scheme (PES) allows entitled customers to buy a motor vehicle in the UK free of VAT for export outside the European Union (EU).

A 'margin' vehicle is free of VAT, hence there being no provision for relief, whereas a 'Qualifying' vehicle attracts VAT so can therefore be considered for a PES.

My suggestion would be to shortlist two or three vehicles that have previously been prepared to Approved Used standards, so that they are ready to go.

Good luck with the search..... May be worth chatting to Killer90 Whistle he may have an option Wink

Thumbs Up Thumbs Up cheers James, Dads 110 is up for a quick sale but only on a serious buy really. its a 110 xs in silver 2009 which has now just got 24k miles on the clock, first owner was a garage hence low miles and just himself. Will be completely standard with the added extras of a D.R.L Bumper, custom silver dash and thats about it really. It has no seats in the rear but if you was serious ill stick a set in. the other seats have been covered since new so the seats are practically brand new underneath Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Forgot to add - you could get a flight to stanstead and we will pick you up ( in the 110 if wanted Wink ) as its not too far.

The landy has never seen a bit of mud and is used as an advertising vehicle Thumbs Up CSK Automotive

yes no VAT on Margin vehicles.

Correct! I.e as Jeremy said, the OP would need to find a qualifying vehicle in order to have a chance at claiming the VAT back.

Which won't be difficult as qualifying vehicles includes margin vehicles, are you suggesting otherwise? Far be it for me to suggest that a dealer would add the VAT to a margin vehicle when it wasn't applicable Whistle Pimped black '07 Puma

So on a personal export for a margin vehicle you wouldn't invoice VAT. Pimped black '07 Puma

More the point that to benefit then the OP needs to find a V-Qual vehicle.
