I just unscrewed my odb2 plug pulled it to the back, ran the cable inside and connected to a new scangauge 2.

There is this grounding line from one of the odb2 fuse that runs to the torx nut that holds the odb2 plug, is that very important? Now my odb2 port is not "grounded" as I disconnected it from the bracket.

That doesnt look very factory fit to me!

The earth for the EOBD should be in the plug, normally on 2 pins connect to black wires.

Pete.

I made a small PCB to replace the HUGE OBDII plug on mine.. I posted details of how to knock one up on one of the 4x4 forums, but like a t1t, can't remember what one!

My vehicle is 1 month old so it came like that I will just leave it as it is.

Shax, yor setup is nice but it is beyond me. I opened the speaker side to access the back of the odb, pull it to the side, plug in the cable and route it up and out from the steering column, my workshop will have a problem accessing the plug.
