LUBRICANTS FOR SERVICE
Up till now i have had a 300tdi Discovery [12 years] so am quite familer with lubricant needed for the old girl
but now i am lucky enough to have just got an 07, 90 country hardtop in storneway grey
question is what lubricants are best used in. Engine
Gearbox
Transferbox
F&R Axle

So if someone could enlighten me with type,amounts and service intervals etc i would be very gratfull.

My work:

Diffs.:
1. additive Bardahl T&D Fullerene (350 cc)
2. oil CASTROL SAF-XO synthetic GL5 class 80W-90 (fill up to fill-hole more or less 1250 cc)

Gearbox:
Gearbox type MT82 :
1. additive CPL Gearbox (125cc)
2. additive Bardahl T&D Fullerene (250cc)
3. oil Castrol BOT328 synthetic GL5 (oil 2050 cc) - NB!! remember that the fill hole IT IS NOT THE MAXIMUM LEVEL (like diff. and transfer box) , you need to fill the correct quantity (2,4 liters totally)

Transfer box:
1. additive Bardahl T&D Fullerene (250 cc)
2. oil Bardhal T&D SYNTHETIC OIL GL5 75W-90 (fill up to fill-hole ca 2050 cc)

After discharged the old oil:
- FIRST fill the additives
- SECOND add the oil

if you want to change the oils WITHOUT add additives:

Click image to enlarge

motore = engine
cambio = gearbox
scatola del riduttore = transfer case
differenziale posteriore = Rear diff.
differenziale anteriore = front diff

The Castrol BOT 130M is superseded by Castrol BOT 328 fully synthetic GL4-GL5 80W-90 oil
.

Are you sure the BOT is GL-5? I think it is GL-4 and 75W/90.

As for the engine oil: Any oil meeting the Ford WSS-M2C913-A
Ford WSS-M2C913-B spec.

LR South Africa use the Castrol BOT 328 GL4 75w90 as well, but I cannot find any information on this oil on the Internet.

Even Castrol SA does not know anything about this oil, does anyone have the Technical Data Sheet?

On top of this, it costs a fortune: LR dealers - ZAR380/L whereas Castrol BOT 130M - ZAR120/L at various spare shops & Ford dealers.

Is Bot328 really 3x better than Bot130M!???
