Low quality high sulpher Euro 2 grade diesel on Euro 5 2.2?
My new 2.2l puma is Euro 5, I am in Singapore where most stations Euro 4 diesel with 50ppm sulpher. If I venture north into Malaysia, they are still on Euro 2, which have 5000ppm and all sorts of lower grade diesel.

I have read in ads that the defender is "tuned down" for low grade fuel due to its intend for cross country and poor access to high quality fuel, but I only read this in reviews and ads in a general statement, there is nothing in the catalogue or technical talking about this.

How worried should I be? I don't want to have to have something cease on me, crossing from Singapore into Thailand bypassing Malaysia is more than 800KM.

high sulpher is better for the injectors and high pressure pump (better lubrification). Probably the only component that can have problem is the FAP (particulate filter).

My suggestion is: try to drive the EU5 standard setup defender and see if the FAP will be in trouble before modify the ecu map. Discovery 5 td6 HSE Stornoway Gray Outback Engineering Limited Edition

So you mean the more sulphur the merrier as far as the engine is concerned? I have heard beware of injectors and probably need to change fuel filter more often "rumours" but no one seem to know what they are talking about. The particle filter is something like an "afterburner" right, see if it will get into any trouble is not good, limp mode in the middle of no where is not fun.
