Rust on new engine
I just pick up my new defender 110.
There is already some rust on some of the cast iron parts of the engine.
Is this normal?

Stop the rust in it's tracks with a liberal dosage of ACF50 Thumbs Up

But keep it away from the aux drive belt... Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

Got that on mine (think its standard on the 110) Mr. Green

As suggested ac50 or dinitrol engine wax spray, did most of mine and it still looks like new.

The cast iron will rust as its not treated. It'll be so thick it'll take decades to rust to the points where its a problem.

As mentioned above, it's standard, factory fitment on new Defenders.

You can protect it, but it won't ever eat itself away, so I'm not concerned about mine!

Yes cast iron is similar to the stainless steel. It produce a sort of brown skin (passivation layer) and not more Discovery 5 td6 HSE Stornoway Gray Outback Engineering Limited Edition
