Landrover have agreed to fit carpets in the passenger area for me, so the car is back to the dealers midweek to have them fitted.
Looking forward to a good play this week.

good stuff.... the side spots, are h7 or h9 - are you tempted to install some HID conversions ?

You making suggestions here which are beyond legality? Laughing

J.W. Speaker, fully legal Thumbs Up

I don't think so, you can have HID spot lights

That's one classy Defender !

Nice house too ! As an ex - Brummie I didn't think there were parts of Wolverhampton that were that pretty ! Laughing

Funny you should say that as I had a guy here today from London buying my old Navara and he said exactly the same!
He also couldn't believe our neighbours had a thatched roof!

Loving the defender by the way!
Have done 150 miles in it today.
A couple of questions if I may Embarassed

The gear change is quite clunky, is this normal?
The stereo is dire! is this a known fact or am I being fussy!
I'm struggling to get in and out! Are sidesteps an easy install or better left to the pros ?
Why do the kids love it so much!!!
Why do I smile when I drive it, despite the fact it handles like a pig and is slower than my ride on mower? Shocked

Tim

the answer to the last two questions is all about the words cool, soul and character!

As regards the gearchange forget snickety shifting a la modern cars. You've got a pretty heavy duty, archaic drive train there so slow deliberate gearchanges will result in a smooth and clunk -free operation. You'll soon get used to it with practice.

The radio is rubbish but if you have a spare hour click into the search function above and you will see dozens of posts on how guys have upgraded theirs - from a simple speaker change to full acoustic blow out systems.

Ditto (ie search function) side steps as there are many different types out there. I'm no mechanic but I fitted my Paddock spares steps in about an hour. A year later and they're still there. Most bolt into pre-drilled holes in the chassis so fairly straight forward.

Other topics that are covered from beginning to end at least once a week on Def2 include :
Rustproofing
Wipers
Use of Two stroke oil
Tyres, dogs, knives, boats, the missus etc etc. Its all in the archives Laughing

Enjoy Thumbs Up

Well I had my first puncture today!
Wonder if these MTR's are prone to puncturing...

Sorry to here that. Come and live over here, they have a massive number of workers who start cleaning the roads in town and in the countryside as of 4.00 AM virtually on a daily basis Laughing Razz You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.
