I think I will go for an adjustable, will it bolt straight onto what I have or is it a whole new set up?

Spoke to Dixon Bate today, they can sell me a a full set up including all the brackets etc for £142 + vat they said that I need to change the lot due to "type approvel" issues.
I recon I can sell the old one on e-blag or keep it incase I change motors at a later date. |

Are you sure you need all the bits again,Paul 55 did your swop opposite to you and only needed to swop the drop plate. 2.4 90 XS

The DB tow hitch has spreader bars, doublers and reinforcing brackets, so it is best to swap the lot out. It is really quite a simple job. Have a dummy run and bolt it all together before mounting on the vehicle to see how it all goes together. They will sell direct, but look at the aftermarket motor factors, who will sell it cheaper. Use plenty of copper slip, which will make removal easier if required.
There is one change I did. DB want you to drill out the threads on the chasiss, on the fuel tank mounting brakets & fit nuts & bolts. However I left the thread and used a suitable bolt, 12mm I seem to recall. I did aslo put a shake proof & nut on the back as well, just to be sure. On the new Pumas, they still have this hole but no longer thread it, so I used a 12mm tap and threaded it myself. My local dealer Harw**ds wanted £325 for the tow hitch and would not budge on price, hence I went to Paddocks. A main dealer to be avoided. |

Now fitted!
Sorry no pics as I was wearing by wellies! Towed a SWB 140 miles today with no skiding, I can't praise the towing ability of this TDCi it pulls like a train and cruses at 60mph at 2000rpm 25 years later and Land Rover have got it just right. |

Yep, the new puma does tug well. However I doubt they will live 30 years+ like the series did. They now need to sort out all the new issues they have created in the puma model. Sucking water into the fuel, poor build, bad paint, lack of a user repair manual etc, then they will have a winner.
