With you on that as well as better MPG without all the weight of ABS, TC, Air Con etc. An XS is a monstrous weight compared to other models especially a 110 with the rear seats that must weigh around 30KG+ per seat Shocked Add into the mix over 50KG of winch and bumper, 75KG roof-rack, 20KG of rear bumperettes, same again maybe for a drop down tow set, storage boxes...the list goes on and some of these motors must be well over their body mass index Laughing

A basic model 90 must be a flyer compared to my heavy lump Rolling Eyes[/quote]

It will feel more 'planted' on the road though. And maybe a bit less choppy and less gearbox backlash

My 110 is boggo. No air con, no leccy windows & no central locking. I miss the CL but as it's winter not yet worried about windows or air con. But I reckon I'll miss the dash vents the most when summer finally gets here.

Cheers for all the comments chaps. I've started a new thread on the General forum now just to complicate matters!

I agree the cold climate pack is a must-have. I would also say aircon is worth it though, as without the vent flaps its gets very hot inside in summer - there is not enough fresh air from the door windows alone.
I wanted central locking, which comes with leccy windows for some reason - didn't especially want them I'm quite happy to wind a handle...oh well.
Base specs look nicer I think, black front, white roof and wheels, more like a proper old Landrover. i didn't want alloys so went for Wolf rims. No sunroof either cos they still leak.

I think the third row seats are an optional extra. If you don't use them, save yourself a bit more and get a utility wagon, cheaper still!
