2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SW Stornoway Grey
Thank you for the information, unfortunately these Ford rated oils are EXPENSIVE and difficult to find here (Manila, Philippines).

There are other oils from petrol stations like Shell and some "cheaper" brands in 5W-30 but unsure if they can be used on 2.4 and 2.2 Pumas. The 2.2 Pumas in these parts thankfully do not have a DPF unless they were imported from a country that required them.

Will just any 5W-30 work? From a good source of course.

Any? NO. Any 5W30 meeting Acea A5/B5 hopefully. Or Acea C2,C3, A3/B4 (if fuel is high in sulphur). As well, Mobil 1 0W40 is aceptable as it shears down to 5W30 quite fast.

I would not use Acea C1, C4 etc or any oil formulated for petrol engines. Puma 110" SW

C1 isn’t for petrol, Diesel as mentioned in the link above.
Which is what I’ve used above this time around.

The above meets specs for Def 2.2 JLR approval, backwards compatible for 2.4’s as well.
(I’ve used the C1 in my 2.4).

Or for a 2.4 you can alternatively use:

ACEA A1/B1, A5/B5
API SN/CF
ILSAC GF4
Meets Ford WSS-M2C913-C
Jaguar Land Rover engine oil specification ST JLR.03.5003

The alternatives just above maybe easier to source than C1. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧
