United Kingdom 2013 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 XS CSW Firenze Red
Things that I've found help -

1) Driving style - when pulling away I bring the clutch up gently and fully first, and only then when moving press on the accelerator pedal. That's different to every other car I've ever driven.
2) Changing rear half shafts for 1 piece versions reduced slop and helped a lot.
3) I had an exhaust blow between the exhaust manifold and the dpf. I'm convinced that fixing that somehow resulted in a far smoother driving experience, which I didn't expect & I don't understand - ??!!
4) Recently my 110 got a lot more clunky with increasing bunny hop tendencies. it turned out this was a precursor to the output shaft totally failing.

This was fixed on mine (2014 2.2) by replacing the rear drive members (with one piece shafts, as it happens). The wear was picked up when it was serviced- I'd not noticed it as drivetrain slop but after the shafts were changed it removed 90% of the problem. Cheers, Guy.

As BW mentioned just above. Also, driveline slop in the rear can cause a lot of these things and worn bushes.
This causing a lot of movement an less precise feel to the clutch bite meaning it’s taken up more harshly than expected, possibly with a slight torque reduction with the clutch switch.

Wearing heavy footwear is something to bear in mind as well, on a Defender you don’t want too light, but not too heavy either.
Yes, the pedals are fairly large but all the same the feel is limited and more harsh on driveline.

Thumbs Up +1. Perfect description
