New steering wheel
Hi guys, sorry I'm pretty new to all this but I want to update to a new steering wheel and Optimill as part of my upgrades. Silly question number 1 is on my 2014 puma how many splines will I have on the column? Is it as straight forward as that or do I have to remove the steering wheel and count them up.

Thanks in advance

Neil

Hi,
The safest way is to count the splines. Similar looking wheels from the same year can have a different number of splines.
You don't have to remove the wheel to count, just take the centre cover off and remove the nut.

One other thing to be aware of is the Dynanic Stability Control steering wheels are different, due to the steering angle sensor. DSC is on 2015 & '16 model year vehicles, build from early/mid 2014, and have a switch on the upper left of the dash centre to disable it.
All DSC wheels are 48 splines, with recesses in the back of the wheel.

I have the late 2014 110 and can't remember for sure but think it's the 48 spline.. Mine has the dsc.. If you need me to check just say but the safest bet is to take a look at your own..
I got the optimill as a security feature and got the locking swivel as well.
Recently had a trip to the factory and really enjoyed that..
I wanted to be able to run a smaller wheel, and have to say I'm really enjoying it.. Appreciate it may not be to everyone's taste..
