Inj always goin bad when removed
This has happened three times.

I do a head gasket change, and when install the original injectors, they spoil. I have tried bleeding them prior to starting, and its the same. For both 2.4 and 2.2. What am I missing? I dont want to keep buyin new injectors everytime I remove the head.

The manual doesnt cover bleeding procedures. But I insure fuel comes out of the supply pipe prior to starting. Then I crank the engine for a fee seconds prior to starting. Can't leave well enough alone

I read somewhere that you should not bleed fuel from the high pressure injector pipes, like with old diesels. I do not know why and do not know if it is standard practice on common rail diesels. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing
