Fast charge for portable power station
I have a Jackery Portable Power Station, other makes are available.

I have wired up a 12V ignition switched feed to charge it while driving. I also have a set of solar panels to charge it when parked up and the sun is out.

The charge rate off the 12V feed is only about 60W, when charging from solar (full sun) or mains it's more than double that around 140W.

I purchased a Victron 12 - 24 DC/DC converter and wired it in to the 12V ignition switched circuit. The extra voltage bumps the charge rate up to around 140W. A great upgrade and not expensive; £46 for the Victron, plus a few quid for some connectors.

Looks goo. I presume this works with smart alternators. Eiger Grey MY23 D250 SE with bits. Known as Noddy.

No idea what a smart alternator is. However, the Victron is just another simple load. The voltage doubles also increasing the current. E.g. 24V 5A load is 12V 10A input, actually a tad more because the Victron is not 100% efficient; typically 93%.
