I would check that appropriate voltages are where they should be, and also that there is good grounding continuity if you are able to.
You may have disturbed some existing ground paths or connections, if you have been near the battery, the clamps could be loose, or an altered ground path introduced. LED’s (and their drivers) can be very sensitive to voltage, fluctuations in voltage, polarity sensitive and grounding. Most auto LED’s are factored in to work between 9v & 30v approx (not all, but as a guide). The 9v cut off, means that if there is a poor voltage then they can cut off just like that or flicker if voltage fluctuates momentarily. The Alternator rectifiers keep voltage stable, but if there is a high impedence final ground at the light source that can cause voltage drop and variable fluctuation in voltage causing flickering lighting. There could also be high EMF given off by the DRL’s, that could be affecting the other systems and its electronics. You can block this with Aluminium foil to test, just to see if that makes a difference, but it’s not guaranteed but could help. If you did try this it would be probably best to do so around the electronics of the lighting system if that’s possible and access is possible, beading in mind that heat mustn’t be trapped. There could be the that the electronics could be at fault, but as it has happened after your DRL fitting I would doubt it. You could also consider a Diode on the path from any trigger you may have used for your Relay for the DRL’s to prevent flyback voltage or any induced voltage from the relay coil. (If fitted). ____\We|Will|Win/___ ____/🇬🇧🇺🇸\____ _//*⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰*\\_ |

Thank you for that mate, that’s incredibly in depth!
I’ve managed to have a look with my wife in the drivers seat and it looks like when steering the fog lights now come on in addition to the headlights, pretty sure the standard fogs didn’t do this? |

The Defender doesn’t have adaptive cornering lights (headlights that turn when you turn the steering wheel) even on the highest grade ‘matrix LED’
Fog lights that illuminate when you turn in certain drive modes and when you indicate (below a threshold speed) have been on the cars since the beginning.
