110 2.4 TDCi Non-ABS - Bias Valve
Hello all.

I’m looking to replace my brake lines, going flexible through Pioneer. This will be the NS and OS lines, plus the chassis to servo line.

Pioneer have asked if I have a Bias Valve, and as far as I can tell, I don’t. I hand felt and visually inspected along the entire length of the chassis, and up the bulkhead into the engine bay, and as far as I can tell, it’s one straight-through, OE copper pipe.

I have a MY2011 110 2.4 DCPU Non-ABS model w/ rear calipers. All original as far as I can tell/know. The pick up area is original, and has no added weight from a roll cage, rack or both.

Couple of questions before I go back to them:

A. Does the following photo indicate that balance is done by the servo?
B. If not, should I have a brake bias valve and would it be advised that I fit one when replacing the lines?

Note that I’ve never had any problems or unforeseen lock-ups of the rear, notably living in an environment where I’m often braking hard and on steep downhill descents when the weight will be particularly nose-heavy, and the back perhaps as light as it’s ever likely to be.

Any thoughts?

Thanks as always.

Thumbs Up

The brake bias valve is on the one line from master cylinder that goes to the rear, and is near the master cylinder/bulk head area.

I doubt you have one fitted. And your system will be balanced/set by the master cylinder

To the best of my knowledge you do not have one, should not have one and don't need one.

I have an older but essentially similar vehicle and do not have one.

Thank you both. I’ll run with ‘don’t have one, don’t need one’. Thumbs Up Monsieur Le Grenadier

Why the swap to flexible (braided?) hoses instead of quality cupro pipe?

Also, you might want to replace your cracking brake servo before spending on blingy brake hoses?
