Apologies, yet another tyre question Embarassed

The Goodyear Wranglers on my 200tdi are starting to show their age in terms of some tread wear on the fronts in particular and cracking between the tread blocks.

I would love to replace like with like as OEM and have been perfect for my use, but assume these are now obsolete and presumably bettered by more modern tyres.

I do a couple of thousand miles a year so the mileage isn't a issue and I'm not prepared to pay £250 a corner either!

I do want mud terrains as I do the occasional ALRC trial and do not want to go to 265 or 255's.

My current thinking is as follows, but would highly welcome any comments and additions or deletions:

Comforser CF3000 purely based on aesthetics & price but never heard of them

Toyo Open Country, but quite a bit more expensive

Falken Wildpeak, as above

Davanti Terratoura as above again

Kumho but not keen on the tread pattern for some reason

Maxxis Bighorn, just feel a bit too American!

Thumbs Up Question Rob

Comforser are becoming more popular. If you like the look of the pattern, buy them. I had the all terrain cf1100 and I was happy. 2017 5.0 V8 Supercharged RRS SVR

Thanks BB that's good to hear. Just wondering if anyone has the Toyo's in that size as I know the 255's seem popular and good on the road . . . . . . . .

Ive had the toyo MT open country for 6 months now and love them. Was a bit worried about having MTs as ive always had ATs and heard about road noise etc but ive been really impressed. Hardly any road noise increase and they look fantastic. I like how they are obviously a MT but the tread pattern isn't too aggressive.

I have the Toyo M/T on mine in the 255/85 size. I’ve nothing negative to say. A great all round tyre. They are quiet, grip well in most situations and look good. They’re a good cross between 235 and 265 but a bit taller. So long as they still make them when they wear out I’d get another set. 1983 110 automatic OM606

I have the Davanti Terratouras and really like them. Fairly quiet and good grip on a wet road. I just ordered another pair from Camskill and they were only £115.
I would note though that they are an A/T and I know you would like M/T 2015 Puma 2.2 110 XS Utility Station Wagon - 2024 - Present

have ran the toyos on my cruiser and they were good and lasted well not to noisy when new but did get a bit more noise as they were worn.good in mud and not bad in sand as well.

not ran the davanti muds but the At version is good value for the money, grips well and is lasting ok.
the car versions are mid range and seem to be lasting well on my daughters cars.

a mate runs his wolf on at comforsors and rates them highly for grip, wear and value for money.

Out of your shortlist ...... I like the look of the Toyo MT open country.

I'm up for some tyres soon, but im going to stick with Cooper STT pros...

Where are you gong to get your tyres from?

Really appreciate all the comments, thanks. Unfortunately had to book one of our other cars in yesterday for x4 new tyres at the best part of £800 after getting a screw in one, so this can wait until October now!

R&O, I'm not sure yet, guess 'phone around locally and get some on-line prices including fitting, but I probably won't go down the mail order route in case of any issues getting them fitted, but very receptive to any suggestions.

Thumbs Up
