Carrying bikes inside a 90
Anyone carry bikes in the back of their 90 ? I was thinking about some form of base board with fork mounts on that (front wheel obviously off due to limited space).

Any better ideas ?

I have done a couple of times in a station wagon. Both wheels off, bike upside down with the handlebars right up to the back of the front seat and the forks through the gap into the front. Be careful the door shuts and doesn’t take the derailleur off. I have an XL mountain bike so it’s pretty long.

Much easier to get a rack!

Much easier to get a 110!

As an MTBr who has owned 90s in the past I can't really understand why any one would have a 90?

Have lived with a 110 for over 10yrs now. 2-3 MTBs in the back with wheels on. Green lanes no trouble. RTV trials and often give the 90 drivers a bloody nose. Better for towing, better on the motorway, less choppy on uneven roads, cheaper to buy.

Sorry that's not an answer to the question, but just sayin....

I do exactly this in a 110 - a board across the load area with two fork mounts in it, with the back wheels resting on the back of the folded centre seat.

I think you would struggle on a 90 though, the back wheels are going to be very close to your elbow, or you are going to need to put the passenger seat down and then you are limited by not being able to carry any passengers..

I used to carry my MTB in the back of a Nova Sport - back seat folded down and both wheels off so why not??

90, I remember those days of old…….Black and white TV’s and we all wore flat caps and suits to the mines… Rolling with laughter

Today’s MTB’s use 29 inch wheels and about a foot longer than my old 1992 Alpinestars Cromega Dx on 26 inch wheels:whistle:

It’s just easier to use my Thule towbar bike carrier on the back of my 90, then when I get home it double up as a bike wash before I put it away…..

Carrying bikes in the back of a car is not a sportsmanlike way to run a race.

I used to take off both wheels and lay the bike in the load space with karrimat sandwiching them. Often used to carry two like this. I then got a spare wheel mounted rack and carried them that way (I also still used to drop the bike wheels). Then I graduated to a Pendle rack mounted on the tow bar (not a tray type). Finally I got a 110...
