Bulk map update via USB
The maps on our new Defender are badly out of date and I thought I would do a bulk update via USB as a starting point. I did the download and inserted the USB stick in the car and it said it would take 1hr 5 mins to update. What it didn't say was whether it is updated with the engine running or with the car locked and alarmed and I didn't want to risk it at that stage.

Has anyone done this and can tell me which it is? 2023 Defender D300 HSE in Pangea Green

Oh dear, that means I'm going to have to take it out for a nice long drive. Smile

I assume it all goes to pot if you interrupt the update. 2023 Defender D300 HSE in Pangea Green

When I update all the maps off USB it normally takes about a 50 minute drive.

I stumbled across it:

https://www.landrover.co.uk/ownership/info.../pivi.html

My download (UK & Europe) needed 20.7Gb so you need a 32Gb or bigger USB. It has to be formatted to FAT32 which seems to cause Windows 10 and 11 a problem these days with the bigger drives so I ended up using a third party product to re-format my 64Gb USB stick. 2023 Defender D300 HSE in Pangea Green

You don’t really need to download the maps. They will automatically update in whatever country you are in MY25 D350 Defender 110 X, Carpathian Grey, 7 Seat, Electric Towbar

I did the update the other evening when we had to go out. On startup the 1h 5m had increased to 1h 15m for some reason but the update actually completed in.....50 minutes, so you were bang on. 2023 Defender D300 HSE in Pangea Green
