Uneven Wear BFG KM3 MT 7.50:16
Hi. I continue to work on my 84 CSW this time getting the chassis and underside winter ready. Having removed all 4 wheels I have noticed really odd wear in the rear tyres (mostly off side rear) where the tyre blocks are like steps, every other block line is worn down noticeably compared to the adjoining blocks.

The fronts are fine. I've not done many miles since purchase and have no history of the tyres and use. BFG are normally excellent tyres, any idea what is going on? Over or under inflation maybe?

That's completely normal for BFG MTs (and most other makes I suspect), especially on vehicles driven in a spirited manner on occasion. I think it is the result of the tread blocks squishing as the tyre drives the vehicle forward causing the trailing edge to be unloaded.

It is the reason why I rotate my wheels periodically so that they rotate equally in each direction. It is not indicative of a fault.

Thanks Blackwolf & custom90

I've got to replace the pair anyway as one has a deep cut. I tracked down the guy I brought it off and he said be brought the tyres second hand just to get it back on the road.

The fronts are fine and have plenty of tread so I can keep an eye from here on. 1984 One-Ten CSW
