I can't help with the white connector I'm afraid. The black one you circled is a female ISO connector so presumably it is designed to accept the male stereo power connector and the male stereo speaker connectors on the original Defender harness and it will have two male connectors on the other end to plug into the stereo. There will be something in between such as the ipod interface. It looks like a similar set up to the steering wheel stereo controller box I have fitted in my Td5. You plug the Defender harness in one end, some magic happens in the middle and you connect the male plugs into your stereo. You're going to have to do a continuity test to work out which of those RCA cables comes out under your cubby box and carefully try and trace where the other one goes.
I'm not familiar with the ipod harness in your bottom picture but did it work by playing the ipod through the tuner on a set frequency? So you plug the Defender antenna into the female antenna plug that's part of the kit and the male antenna from the kit plugs into the stereo. You connect your ipod to the lead, the box converts it to an FM signal which you pick up by tuning the stereo to the corresponding frequency. Looking at the ipod connector it's the old style before the Lightning connector so would be from an era before Bluetooth was a common feature on head units. Just a thought. |
