I was told by MB who service my Sprinter/Jayco 4x4 that Allianz warranty was the one to go for as most of the claims they put through are honoured. I will look into this for my Merc when the time comes & if it looks good, will do same for my Landy.

Do LR not offer the extended warranty over there? Here it is available up to 10 years old or 100k miles, whichever comes first.

Mine is coming up to 5 years old but is over 100k so I can’t extend it any more. As such I’ll be running the gauntlet!

like many early adopters LR initially gave us 3 years and then a few months later extended all to
5, however some of us that got the vehicles early had 3 years factory and 2 years Allianz extended,
since 2021 all now have a 5 years factory warranty .. yet another pommie bar steward down under

The way cars are built now, even Land Rovers 😊, you can often get 10 years trouble free motoring with the mileages you are doing and your regular service routine. On a heavy car like the 110 expect and budget to change suspension bushes 120Ks onwards, keep an eye on the condition of the air suspension bags, brake calipers and you should be ok.

I suspect the main worry will be the plug in hybrid battery and inverter. Unless you have some experts that can fix battery management systems, contactors in the inverter/charging module, dead cells in the battery, any issues and these can often result in an outright replacement and worse case $8-9K.

Personally, I’d keep it for the next 4-5 years and if a big unexpected cost does come along just think of it spread over the total time you’ve had it. So $8-9K over 9-10 years is nothing (a years depreciation on a new one).

Wish Japan offered the same.
We only get 3 years from new and can only extend for 2 years, and then you're on your own. 22MY Defender 110 D300 S in Pangea Green and Contrast White Roof

the CFO and moi are now leaning more towards keeping it for another 5 years, next year we are planning
to do more longer outback tours to North WA and western NT, so more than likely i will add a bigger fuel
tank (Long ranger in OZ have a 174 litre designed for the 110) and buy a new off road camper trailer,
the money i would have to invest in a new 110 would easily cover the two items and leave some change
for any ongoing repairs.. yet another pommie bar steward down under

I just called my local dealer's finance guy and asked about an extended warranty on my 2022 110SE with 38k on the odometer.

He quoted me $8200USD to extend the factory warranty coverage (basically the same things covered by the factory warranty would be covered by the extended warranty) that would bump it out 6 years or 100,000 on the odometer.

Not sure its worth it to be honest. The truck has proven to be remarkably resilient however my wife is terribly harsh on it. Yesterday when backing into our driveway she threw it into reverse without coming to a stop... she has no idea what the term "mechanical sympathy" means. So who knows, I might go ahead and bite the bullet and get it. 2022 Defender 110 SE P400 Tasman Blue Expedition and Cold weather package

I would, and in fact will, take the risk of not doing it. I believe that a quote of $8200 USD would cover any reasonably possible breakdown, and that will probably never happen, which is why an insurer is willing to take the risk for you... because if it were more than likely, I wouldn't do it or I would look for double that price. Defender 110 SE I6 D250 23MY

The boss has said we are keeping it, and after the quote came through for the D250 110,
I would have to find about $45k to get it to the same level as the existing one if sold privately,
or about $68k on trade in prices Laughing , it’s staying and may keep the cash back to fix it when
