Body Tape recommendations
Hi All

I've got a set of those Mud defender wheel arch spats to fit on (when I've painted them - Thanks Dan for sorting out the paint Thumbs Up )

I was thinking maybe its possible to fit them without drilling initially (just in case I /mrs H doesn't like them or they don't work - unlikely I know)

So I'm wondering if anyone could recommend a body tape which would be decently strong so they don't fall off at the first bump - maybe something like number plates are stuck on with, but a narrow strip? Preferably easily available on the high street!

I guess the other option is an adhesive like no more nails or similar but if anyone can recommend a tape that might be tidier. Then as well as sticking them on they would be sealed to the body.

Looks like the sidesteps might have to come off to fit the front ones anyway Shocked

Cheers

I've used no more nails tape for number plates. That should work for a temporary fix to see if you are happy with them and it doesn't damage paintwork. Both surfaces would need a good clean with a degreaser first, and a rub down with diluted IPA before applying though.

Cheers

Steve

Forgot to mention that you can get it from most DIY stores

I was going to say cling film, but that's an answer for a different forum. I've used exterior use silicone sealant for number plates and the like before now, the slight elasticity helps with things being vibrated off. I broke a number plate that I'd stuck over a previous plate on my caravan when I sold the van and it had been on for three years!

As above 3m when I worked in bodyshops we used 3m double sided for resticking body mouldings etc but make sure the area to be stuck too is thoroughly clean and grease free.
