Galvanized chassis bent at towbar mounting point
Hello, My name is Dennis and I'm the proud owner of a 110. We are on a three month road trip right now through the Balkan. Today we had a small accident unfortunately, on a pretty harsh off-road track. Our towbar hit a big rock. The mounting bolts for the legs to the chassis snapped of the chassis, and the back of the galvanized chassis is bent. We are at a campsite right now, and I took the towbar off. My question is: is this fixable? And I see that some of the zinc is cracked/came off. Are these areas likely to going to rust?

Yeah, we unfortunately have the same issue then I guess. Are you still able to mount a towbar to it?

I also send a picture to my mechanic and he believed it cannot be fixed. Only by welding in a new towbar 😣

Still able to fit a towbar and tow . I put a couple of washers behind top bolt holes to make tow ball sit level .
