Detachable tow bar
Can anyone recommend a decent detachable towbar kit that comes with everything I need.

The dealer are quoting £1600 plus fitting, strange as it was 800 quid or so when I ordered it last year

I know a fixed one would possibly be better but don’t like it hanging down when off road so a removable one would be ideal

Yes prices have gone up. Side steps are now £1,650

Try vehicle breakers. There's a few Defenders being broken at any one time, you may find one with a tow bar.
