Quick Release for Twisted Steering Wheel
Hi. I've just joined today, as i will be picking up my '65 plate 90 in a couple of weeks time. It has a few twisted mods, one of them being their three spoke steering wheel. Is anyone aware of a quick release boss that would work with this steering wheel.

Also, can anyone recommend suitable imobiliser or tracker?

Welcome to the forum Thumbs Up

If you look up above, there is a " search " so hopefully you will be able to find out all the info you will need Thumbs Up

For your steering wheel, look at Optimill products Very Happy Thumbs Up Clayton.

Optimill is the best out there. Has Twisted rebranded someone else's wheel? I cant see them Manufactuing their own wheels. A pic would be useful.

That’s a good point, thanks. The Twisted wheel may be rebranded from one that does work with the optimil boss and lock. This is the wheel.

The Twisted wheel was designed by them.

Charles goes into great depth about how they designed it differently to others on the market

There is a you tube video about it somewhere.

Ask Twisted, they will let you know the best option.

Thanks. I have spoken to them and they have a quick release hub but my concern is that it could still be driven with large mole grips. I’m just trying to decide if a disklok would be better protection that a removable steering wheel without security over the hub.

Can Twisted confirm whether the Optimill Swivel lock will work with their quick release boss? That would prevent the car from being driven with mole grips. The advantage over something like a Disklok is that it’s more compact and you haven’t got to find somewhere to store a big heavy Disklok which would be a pretty substantial missile in the event of an accident (ask me how I know…). Disklok is obviously much much cheaper though.

Swivel lock available here:

Many thanks. Twisted do a quick release but no security with it. I’ll contact Optimil to see if there quick release boss will fit the twisted wheel.
