If you had a scan tool and looked at the live data you would see the egr demand function.. if that sits at the same figure then its not working..
Other than that you may get an indication by probing the connector pins with the engine running and someone operating the accelerator .. The motor drive would have a voltage that altered..two pins as it will be bi directional.. There should also be a varying voltage on the position feedback wire, but you will need to study a wiring diag to see what the various pins are..5 in total I think.. I'm guessing but if it was blanked without been mapped out I'd expect to get a fault code.. the egr gases make up part of the cylinder charge when it's working so there would be a corresponding drop in maf..and I suspect that would eventually flag up a fault.. I dont think bypassing the egr cooler circut would impact on the engine cooling circut..I think it takes its supply from the T Piece that supplies the heater..and returns from the egr cooler into another T piece that sits adjacent to the supply one..from there it's a feed back to the coolant pump inlet.. so no impact on the actual engine cooling flow.. |
