Czech Republic 1999 Defender 130 Td5 HCPU Baltic Blue
[Wanted] TD5 NNN engine ECU
Looking for TD5 engine ECU - NNN000120, NNN000130, NNN500020, NNN500030 or NNN500250. Better for manual gear box, but I can modify them. Also possible not working for repair, but not totally burnt.
One or more pieces.
I spent my stock during last month replacing broken ECUs in 3 TD5 cars. This year is a bit strange. "Drobek" = The Small One - Discovery 2, "Blufínek" = The Blue Thing - Defender 130, and for me at least Ford Mondeo Smile

How does one change it from a disco auto to a defender manual? Can you keep the original map and just change a few parameters with a Nanocom?

I found this on ebay for you

This is MSB type ECU, the older one - it had EPROM memory in PLCC package (square one).
To change NNN type ECU from auto to manual you need to replace the main FLASH memory with second one (or reprogram with a programmer) with firmware for manual ECU. Remap is not enough, you need to change all firmware, not just fuel and config maps. And you have to add 2 missing resistors into circuit sensing clutch pedal.
This way you can change NNN0000130 to NNN000120, or NNN500030 to NNN500020 or NNN500250. "Drobek" = The Small One - Discovery 2, "Blufínek" = The Blue Thing - Defender 130, and for me at least Ford Mondeo Smile

I dont know how you know that on the MSB ecu,

But to convert the auto to a manual ecu is just too much work, I will either buy another nnn for about 300 pounds or try and get my current one working again...

MadTom,
Just to comfirm I need to try a replacement ECU.
My existing one is NNN500020
Looking online I see many NNN0000130, I can reflash my data to the new one but I noticed you describe a difference also within the circuit. Currently I have the clutch switch disconnected after remap by TD5Inside. Will this be OK to use the NNN0000130 with my data? I've not done much with the electronics before so learning at the moment. Thank you

There's a company near me who sells the Defender ECU's and l think they are reprogrammed Discovery units.

l had one off him and it was fine (in my 2005 Defender TD5) He also repaired my old ECU.

The company is mastaz.co.uk

l've no connection with the company, only that l have used them.
